Planetary Aspects – Chiron – First Interpretative Level

Chiron

Chiron Conjunct, Sextile and Trigon to the Sun

The effects can be similar to those of Chiron in Leo (which is ruled by the Sun). Aspects of Chiron on the Sun can make you feel ‘special’.

There is often a strong feeling of being here for some great ‘purpose’ or other. There is an ability to help others with their creativity and personal expression, but if you have this aspect, be sure not to neglect your own.

Chiron Square and Opposite to the Sun

There may be an increased sensitivity to criticism of any kind. Learn to take it without feeling attacked or thinking that everyone hates you.

Chiron Conjunct, Sextile and Trigonal to the Moon

Of course there will also be a tendency to ‘mother’ others and help them in their emotional expression. Be careful not to suffocate while looking after others in a motherly attitude.

Chiron Square and Opposite to the Moon

When you were a child, did you have the feeling that your mother wanted to do something else instead of taking care of you? One of the negative effects of Chiron in Aspect to the Sun is the difficulty in accepting criticism.

Conversely, with Chiron in Aspect to the Moon, you can think you are being criticised even when you are not, and then react to this imaginary ‘attack’.

Chiron Conjunct, Sextile and Trigon to Mercury

The positive side of this combination is the increased ability to communicate and teach, to stimulate the minds of others.

These aspects can indeed be inspiring. However, you may feel that you have communicated brilliantly when in fact you have not.

Chiron Square and Opposite to Mercury

Contrary to Conjunct, Sextile and Trigon, you may feel that your communication was a disaster, when in fact it was perfectly in line with expectations.

Chiron Conjunct, Sextile and Trigon to Venus

The Chiron/Venus aspect can make a great art teacher who (as always with Chiron) can teach his students to create art better than they themselves could ever do.

These Aspects are also good for giving excellent financial advice (Venus rules Taurus, the Sign of Money).

Chiron Square and Opposite to Venus

Try to get some pleasure for yourself in a relationship instead of always helping your partner to open up.

These Aspects are also good for giving excellent financial advice (Venus rules Taurus, the Sign of Money) while your own handling of money matters is a disastrous area.

Chiron Sextile and Trigon to Mars

This is the perfect position for a coach who can teach (Chiron) others to perform athletic feats that he himself could never do.

Chiron Conjunct, Square and Opposite to Mars

The difficulties concern aggressiveness and assertiveness. People with these aspects might be ultra-aggressive to cover their feelings of inadequacy or, on the contrary, behave passively to hide inner anger and hostility.

To solve Chiron/Mars problems, the trick is to find a balance point between the two (with the nuances of Libra, the Sign opposite Aries ruled by Mars).

Chiron Sextile and Trigon to Jupiter

People with Chiron/Jupiter aspects may also have the ability to inspire others more than they can inspire themselves. In fact, they can fill others with optimism even when they themselves are feeling pessimistic and depressed.

Chiron Conjunct, Square and Opposite to Jupiter

Stressful Aspects (Square, Opposite and sometimes Conjunct) can produce a person who has all the answers. Just ask.

The problem is that solonic tendencies are usually a cover to avoid facing one’s inner problems. Conversely, there may be a total lack of faith or optimism.

In both cases, the cure lies in addressing the inner wounds that underlie the outer behaviour. A great danger of this placement is that one can become a guru groupie or seer.

Chiron Conjunct, Sextile and Trigonal to Saturn

Saturn organises and controls. The person with a Chiron/Saturn aspect will tend to be compulsively controlling and over-organised.

The reason could be a fear of letting go, or perhaps they are still trying to please an overly restrictive parent.

Chiron Square and Opposite to Saturn

The other side of the coin is represented by those who are highly disorganised and sloppy, or seem too fearful or depressed to make a move.

Chiron Conjunct, Sextile and Trigonal to Uranus

They love the ideal of brotherhood and sisterhood of all people. It is the relationship with real, living, real human beings that turns them off. This is because relating requires showing feelings, a concept they find alien and disgusting.

But feelings and emotions are exactly what needs to be worked on. The Chiron/Uranus individual can produce works of genius while always feeling stupid.

If they can keep their feet on the ground, in touch with reality and their emotions, their true genius can flow freely.

Chiron Square and Opposite to Uranus

This type of person is the one who can say things like “Be for peace, or I will kill you!”. They tend to like people in the abstract, but not in the flesh.

They often have outlandish ideas that they claim are works of genius. Chiron/Uranus people can be completely ‘Uranian’, constantly uttering shocking opinions, or they can go to the opposite extreme and be against anything new.

If they can keep their feet on the ground, in touch with reality and their emotions, their true genius can flow freely.

Chiron Conjunct, Sextile and Trigon to Neptune

Neptune rules dreams, imagination and intuition.

Sometimes this can manifest as a rejection of anything ‘mystical’. Or, at the opposite extreme, a person may emerge who cannot make a move without consulting a psychic.

Intuitive powers can be active with some force and constantly contradict the ‘logical’ conclusions that are reached.

Chiron/Neptune could give rise to a person who avoids all unpleasant situations (anything that requires work or contact with reality).

The alternative is a person who works hard, is ‘responsible’ in a very conventional way and suppresses his imaginative-creative side. Then, he may risk some kind of mental breakdown.

It may also happen that he ‘falls in love’ with someone who has these problems and comes out completely drained.

A perfect example comes from the world of literature: the professor that Marlene Dietrich’s character ruined in ‘The Blue Angel’. The way to deal with Chiron/Neptune is to find a balance, to let the Neptune genie out of the bottle in a constructive way, to give vent to sympathy and imagination without giving up reality.

If you are suppressing Neptune, take an art (or better yet, dance) class. Do some charity work. If you happen to be the type of Chiron/Neptune who suffers from imaginary illnesses, your cover is blown.

The real problem is not the hypocrisy, but the smokescreen you hide with. It is the smokescreen you have put up to hide your real problems. Wake up and face them.

Chiron Square and Opposite to Neptune

Neptune rules dreams, imagination and intuition. On the negative side, it indicates where we try to avoid any reality we find unpleasant.

Sometimes this can manifest as a rejection of anything ‘mystical’. Or, at the opposite extreme, a person may emerge who cannot make a move without consulting a psychic.

Intuitive powers can feel blocked. On the contrary, they may be active with some force and constantly contradict the ‘logical’ conclusions that are reached.

Chiron/Neptune could give rise to a person who constantly ‘maligns’ and avoids all unpleasant situations (anything that requires work or contact with reality).

The alternative is a person who works hard, is ‘responsible’ in a very conventional way and suppresses his imaginative-creative side. Then, all of a sudden, he becomes an alcoholic, a drug addict or has some kind of mental breakdown.

It can also happen that he ‘falls in love’ with someone who has these problems (or is a con artist) and comes out completely drained, if not ruined.

Chiron Conjunct, Sextile and Trigonal to Pluto

Pluto is a super version of Mars. One of the main differences is that Mars is usually open and manifest, whereas Pluto governs hidden, unconscious forces that build up invisibly and then explode with volcanic power.

Pluto’s power could be suppressed. The result could be a person who is always targeted by bullies or who comes out on the wrong side of power struggles. They are afraid to unleash their power.

Most likely, when they were children, any release of that tremendous Pluto power was met with a severe blow from their parents and Pluto was pushed underground.

The cure lies in recognising and taking responsibility for one’s power and finding a way to bring it out in a constructive way.

Chiron Square and Opposite to Pluto

Pluto is a super version of Mars. One of the main differences is that Mars is usually open and manifest, whereas Pluto governs hidden, unconscious forces that build up invisibly and then explode with volcanic power.

On the negative side, Chiron/Pluto aspects can (like Chiron/Mars) make a person aggressive and overbearing. But Mars merely pushes others around; Pluto wants to totally dominate.

A highly negative example is that of Francisco Assis, the Brazilian serial killer, who has Chiron opposition to his Pluto placement in the 5th house. The 5th house governs romance.

I would like to remind again that one aspect alone does not make a mass murderer. There are very few serial killers in the world, but since Chiron and Pluto both move slowly, almost everyone born in the same year has this aspect, which could mean over a million people.

The reason why Chiron/Pluto can cause a person to act in a dominant manner is to compensate for the unconscious fear of being weak and helpless. The cure for this type of Chiron/Pluto is to confront one’s inner feelings of weakness.

On the contrary, Pluto’s power could be suppressed.

A more positive example of Pluto/Chiron is Jonas Salk, the inventor of the first effective polio vaccine. He did not have an aspect between Chiron and Pluto, but had the Sun opposite the midpoint Chiron/Pluto. In his case, the positive and healing side of Chiron and Pluto emerged dramatically.

Another positive example is George Bernard Shaw, who had Chiron in the 9th House (philosophy, publishing, ‘higher’ mental functions) in quadrature aspect with Pluto in the 12th House (restrictions, ‘hidden’ things). His Chiron was also opposite the Sun and Venus, so the power manifested itself mainly in intellectual matters.

Chiron Conjunct, Sextile and Trigon to the Ascendant

Since the Ascendant is always exactly opposite the Descendant, an Aspect to one is also an Aspect to the other. This means that if you have a Chiron/Ascendant Aspect, you must also have a Chiron/Descendant Aspect.

Consequently, this combination influences the way we start things, our initial approach to the world and the way people see us (Ascending). But it also influences the way we relate to others (Descending).

People with Chiron/Ascendant aspects can be great teachers or healers, but there is a wild side that can come to the surface. It becomes easier to ‘hurt’ others or be hurt by them. A positive way to use this aspect would be to help others solve their problems.

Chiron Conjunct to the Midheaven

The Midheaven and the Nadir are exact opposites and should be considered as a single axis. Something that creates Aspects with one also does so with the other. An Aspect of Chiron at this point could affect career and public image (Midheaven) and also the home environment (Nadir).

Relationships with both parents are also affected. If there is a Conjunction with the MC, the effect is similar to that of Chiron in the Tenth House, and the career could be in a field related to Chiron, such as education.

If Chiron makes Conjunction on the 9th House side, then any potential Chiron problems will tend to be suppressed and pushed into the subconscious. The result could be success in a career that one thinks one likes, but which in reality does not satisfy.

The cure for situations is a constant effort to bring hidden problems to the surface.

Any Aspect of Chiron to the Midheaven/Nadir axis will affect relationships with both parents.

The real lesson is to leave the past in the past and move on with our lives. Rona Barrett, the gossip columnist, is also a good example. She has Chiron in Conjunct with the Midheaven and has become famous talking about celebrities and their problems.

Caring for situations is a constant effort to bring hidden problems to the surface. Any Aspect of Chiron to the Midheaven/Nadir axis will affect relationships with both parents.

The real lesson is to leave the past in the past and move on with our lives.

Chiron Square and Opposite to the Midheaven

With the Opposition to the Midheaven from the 3rd House. In this case, there may be something in the home environment that makes one uncomfortable. But also a career that one thinks one likes, but which in reality does not satisfy.

The cure for these situations is a constant effort to bring hidden problems to the surface.

Any Aspect of Chiron to the Midheaven/Nadir axis will affect relationships with both parents.

The real lesson is to leave the past in the past and move on with our lives.
